Keto Caesar Salad
I have always loved a good Caesar salad. Crunchy romaine, nutty Parmesan, crunchy croutons, and creamy dressing come together for a classic combination.
Many Caesar salads can be made low-carb by ordering them without croutons… but where’s the fun in that? Instead, I recommend you whip up this homemade Keto Caesar salad and dressing so you don’t have to miss out on any of that delicious flavor!
The secret is to use my easy Keto croutons for the finishing touch. They’re baked with Italian seasoning, garlic powder, and Parmesan for a perfect pop of flavor and crunch. Plus, they’re so simple to make.
This recipe also uses a super easy homemade Caesar dressing. All you need are six common ingredients plus salt and pepper and you’re good to go.
You can enjoy your salad as a side with your main course, or scoop up a larger portion to enjoy as your full meal! Either way, this Keto Caesar is sure to hit the spot.
Is Store-Bought Caesar Dressing Keto-Friendly?
When it comes to buying dressings, condiments, or sauces from the store, I always recommend checking your labels. You’d be amazed how many brands sneak sugar into their recipes.
Personally, I prefer to make most of my dressings at home. They’re so easy, and I don’t have to deal with any unwanted fillers or preservatives. They’re also way more cost-efficient!
Ways To Add To Your Keto Caesar
This 3-ingredient Caesar is a very basic recipe. So, if you want to add a few more ingredients, go right ahead!
Chicken breast or thighs are a great option if you’re looking to add some protein. Or, if you prefer something a little fattier, you can never go wrong with bacon.
In the mood for seafood? Salmon and shrimp are also great additions to a Caesar.
Looking for a little more healthy fat? If you ask me, you can NEVER go wrong adding avocado to a salad.
But the absolute best way you can add to your delicious salad is by pairing it with this Crispy Buffalo Spiced Chicken recipe. There is nothing better than a spicy chicken dinner paired with the calming flavor of Caesar dressing. Score!
How To Make This Salad Dairy-Free
The dairy in this recipe comes from the Parmesan cheese. If you prefer to follow a dairy-free version of Keto, you can very easily modify this recipe.
Just remember that the Parmesan is used on the salad, in the dressing, and on the croutons. You can either omit it from all three places, or you could replace it with a vegan Parmesan of your choosing.
Can You Store Leftover Keto Caeser Dressing?
Absolutely! I love having a batch on hand to whip up a low-carb Caesar salad at a moment’s notice.
Simple store any extra dressing in an airtight container like a jar with a screw-top lid. It will stay fresh in the refrigerator for about a week.
I definitely recommend waiting to dress your salad until you’re ready to eat it. If you add the dressing and then put the salad in the refrigerator, the lettuce will lose that wonderful crunchiness and start to get soggy.
So, if you’re using this recipe to meal prep, definitely store the lettuce separate from the dressing. When you’re ready to eat, just toss it all together and enjoy!
