Keto Rolls
Who doesn’t love having a basket of warm, fresh rolls to enjoy with a tasty meal? They’re wonderful for cleansing the palette, soaking up any extra sauce, and so much more.
A lot of low-carb bread recipes use cream cheese and mozzarella to keep the inside soft and fluffy. While delicious, I’ve been trying to cut back on dairy lately, so I’ve been looking for a cheese-free version.
Let me tell you, these diary-free Keto rolls may be some of the best low-carb rolls I’ve ever made! They’re also gluten-free and made with nutrient-dense ingredients like psyllium husk powder and flaxseed.
Oh, and did I mention they’re super soft and fluffy?
Best of all, this is one of the easiest Keto bread recipes I’ve ever come across. There’s no kneading, no melting and mixing… just blend the ingredients, give the dough a little time to chill, form the rolls, and you’re ready to go.
Are Dinner Rolls Keto?
Traditional bread rolls are made with wheat or white flour, which can add up to a lot of carbs. A 3-inch plain dinner roll will usually have between 15 and 20 grams of carbohydrates.
These Keto bread rolls, on the other hand, are only 4 net carbs each! They’re perfect to enjoy alongside a tasty meal or as part of a holiday spread.
What To Do With Leftover Yolks
This recipe calls for 2 large eggs as well as 4 egg whites to really give the rolls a nice and fluffy texture. If you use regular eggs (as opposed to egg whites from a carton), this means you’ll be be left with 4 egg yolks.
Personally, I hate wasting food. Thankfully, there are plenty of great ways to use up those yolks so you don’t have to throw them out!
Coincidentally, my Keto lemon curd tarts call for 4 egg yolks exactly. It’s like a recipe match made in heaven.
For something richer, this Keto Chocolate pudding uses 3 egg yolks to get that wonderful texture. Or, you could make a double batch of Keto coconut cream pie, which calls for 2 egg yolks per pie.
Long story short: if you were looking for a nice dessert to enjoy after your meal, these are some delicious options that will help you put those eggs to good use!
What To Serve With Low-Carb Rolls
Pretty much anything! They’re just as wonderful alongside a fancy dinner as they are by themselves with a little butter.
Of course, I LOVE having some bread to sop up extra soup from the bottom of the bowl. Some of my favorites are Keto white chicken chili, Keto turkey chili, or Keto cheeseburger soup.
Light and fluffy dinner rolls also go very well with heavier beef dishes. Keto meatloaf, broiled flank steak, or garlic beef tenderloin are all classic combinations.
Finally, you can always venture outside of dinner! These rolls are great for dipping into egg yolks or making little egg sandwiches for breakfast. You could also layer with deli meats and your favorite toppings for a quick and tasty lunch.
Can You Store Keto Rolls?
Absolutely! And you’ll be so glad you did, because they keep beautifully.
You should store your low-carb bread rolls in an airtight container in the refrigerator. I think chilling can actually improve the texture of almond flour baked goods, so you may find that the rolls are even better the second day.
