I’ve had breakfast on the brain lately.  I’m just tired of bacon, eggs and avocado!  Not sure about you, but I can only have so many eggs. 

I am a creature of habit and don’t mind eating the same thing, but I do hit my breaking point!  I saw these keto sesame bagels on Pinterest and I just had to try them.

They are absolutely delicious and a must try!

I have one suggestion to make, however.  I think I rolled mine a bit small and didn’t have enough of a hole in the middle when I constructed them.  Therefore, when they rose, the hole somewhat closed up.  This is an aesthetic thing vs a taste thing, so it didn’t really make a difference in the long run.

Also, these are quite sticky when you knead them with your hands.  Don’t get discouraged and keep on kneading.  They will get less sticky as you keep going. 

If your dough is super sticky, stick it in the fridge for 5-10 minutes and that will help!


Fathead dough

These are based on the fat head dough recipe that is all over the place now and for good reason!  It is a great base for doughs in things like bagels, pizza, biscuits, etc..  So yummy!

Get creative with the toppings!   My favorites are sesame seeds and Everything But the Bagel seasoning. 

And if you haven’t tried Everything But the Bagel seasoning then you are in for a treat!  I use it all over the place now. 

Even fun little snack like these cucumber and goat cheese bites!

Keto Sesame Bagels

Keto Sesame Bagels



  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
  2. Mix flour, flax, salt and baking powder together.
  3. In separate bowl, add mozzarella and butter. Melt in microwave for 90 seconds, stir.
  4. Immediately combine with eggs and almond flour mixture and knead with hands. Squish through fingers. Don't be shy, get your hands dirty!
  5. Roll into 6 inch logs and make circles. Makes 8
  6. Top with your topping of choice
  7. Bake 375 for 17 minutes.
