Side dish planning can be somewhat challenging on Keto. Not because of a lack of recipes, but because we can get too focused on the main dish that we forget about the lovely side dishes that really complete the meal.
Keto biscuits and keto rolls are my favorite to make. I have a slightly different version of a keto biscuit called a keto drop biscuit. Different recipe, different style, but still just as yummy!
The beautiful thing about these keto cheese biscuits is that they taste good hot, cold and anything in between. They are just as yummy as leftovers as they are right out of the oven.
How Many Carbs are in a Keto Cheese Biscuit
These gluten free and keto cheese biscuits are 5 total carbs and 3 net carbs per biscuit. That is pretty darn good. They are super filling too, so it is rare that you would need more than one. Although, they taste good enough that your tummy will tell you to eat them all!
Can I Use Other Cheeses?
You can definitely play around with other cheeses. For the best flavor and taste, I would stick with the ones I suggest in the recipe, which are cheddar and cheddar jack. But it is always fun to play with different cheeses.
I would not replace the cheddar with mozzarella cheese, however.
What Can I Eat Keto Cheese Biscuits With?
What can you NOT eat with these? I love to eat these warm with butter. But I will let you in on a little secret about my other favorite way to eat them.... Are you ready? I like to warm then and spread cream cheese over them. YUM!
Eating keto cheese biscuits plain is perfectly acceptable as well. The flavor will carry it with or without anything.
Oh, and I almost forgot! KETO GRAVY!!! Have you ever tried keto biscuits and gravy? If not, check out this keto gravy and give it a try!
How to Store Keto Biscuits
You can easily store keto cheese biscuits in the fridge. They will stay good for at least 3-4 days if stored properly in an airtight container. I'm sure they will last longer, but the longer it goes, the more questionable food becomes. 3-4 days is usually the sweet spot!
Now, if they are kind of hard in the fridge, you can always warm them in the microwave or even toast them. YES - you CAN toast them!
How to Make Keto Cheese Biscuits with Bacon
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Add the cream cheese, eggs and cheese to a medium sized mixing bowl and beat until well combined and smooth.
Mix in the remaining ingredients and beat until well combined.
The dough may be sticky, so wet your hands slightly and form the dough into 12 evenly sized biscuits.
Place the biscuits on the baking sheet.
Bake for 15-20 minutes or until browned and cooked through.
