Air Fryer Sweet Potato Fries
Who loves the air fryer? Can I get a silent show of hands? I’m just going to imagine a ton of hands going up the air right now!
I’m obsessed! So quick and easy and everything is just a crispy perfection!
Who would have thought that making your own fries would be so simple? And if you are going to make your own fries, you just gotta make sweet potato fries in the air fryer because they are just simply AWESOME!
How to Make Air Fryer Sweet Potato Fries
Peel and cut sweet potatoes into 1/4 inch sticks.
Soak them in water for about one hour, remove and pat dry.
In a large bowl, toss sweet potato sticks in olive oil.
Place one layer of sweet potatoes on air fryer. Do not layer them. You will have to cook them in batches to make sure they are nice and crispy!
Cook for 6 minutes at 375 degrees.
Meanwhile, make Avocado Ranch dressing according to instructions.
After six minutes, sprinkle fries with salt and pepper, flip, cook for six more minutes.
Flip fries one more time and cook for 2 more minutes.
Remove from Air fryer, add salt and pepper to taste and optional Parmesan cheese.
Repeat steps 3-9 as needed for remaining sweet potato fries.
Serve with optional avocado ranch or dip of choice!
Health Benefits of Sweet Potatoes
I generally eat keto, but include 2 low carb/paleo days per week. And when I do that, I love to include sweet potatoes. Lots and lots of root veggies, but mostly sweet potatoes.
If you happen to be keto, make sure to check out the benefits of a carb up day with keto!
Back to sweet potatoes! If you didn’t already know, check out these amazing health benefits of sweet potatoes:
- Sweet potatoes are a great source of fiber! Fiber is so important and most of us simply don’t get enough.
- They are also rich in antioxidants, which are the lovely little things that protect our bodies from the free radicals.
- Both of the above help promote GOOD gut bacteria. And let’s face it, most of our guts could use a boost.
- Sweet potatoes may also help with vision and a healthy immune system.
Should You Peel the Potatoes For Sweet Potato Fries?
Yes, most definitely! I have 2 main reasons for this.
First and foremost, I like to remove the part that has been in the dirt. I know, I know, I’m weird.
BUT, the second (and more important reason) is that you want that outer layer of sweet potato to get nice and crisp. And crisping up the skin is just not the same!
What Can You Eat With Sweet Potato Fries?
Um, almost anything!
For starters, I like to dip them in homemade avocado ranch dressing.
As far as what to eat them with, they go good with beef tenderloin or a broiled flank steak.
But, for real, they go good with anything. Or simply eat them by themselves. I do!
