Keto Low Carb French Toast

Who doesn’t love French toast? I mean seriously! And if you don’t (gasp), then I invite you to make this recipe and come back and tell me if you are now a devoted low carb french toast fan!

I missed French toast for a long time after transitioning to keto. I have another keto bread recipe, but it did not translate well, taste-wise, to French toast. So I was on a mission to change that.

Get ready to be knocked out of your socks with this delicious and easy low carb French toast recipe.

How to Make Low Carb French Toast

The first thing you want to do is prepare the keto white bread as instructed (instructions below or here).

Keto Bread batter in loaf pan

Bake for 30-40 minutes or until golden brown. Check on it starting around 25 minutes.

Once done, let cool for 15-20 minutes, slice and set aside.

Once cooled, begin warming up frying pan or griddle over medium to medium-high heat.

In a bowl, combine eggs, heavy cream and cinnamon.

Add butter to your warmed pan.

Dip/dunk a slice of keto bread into your cinnamon egg mixture and cook in the frying pan. About 1-2 minutes per side.

Top with your choice of topping!

Can I Eat This French Toast Bread By Itself?

Yes, you can eat this bread by itself! You can use it for sandwiches, you can toast it, or you can eat it plain!

I have another keto bread recipe that you can check out too! That one is a mini loaf one but is truly out of this world!

Toppings For Keto French Bread

There are so many toppings for keto french toast that I don’t even know where to begin. A few of my favorite toppings to eat with low carb french toast are:

  • Good old-fashioned butter! You just plop it on a hot piece of French toast and let it melt down the sides.
  • Fresh Berries

What to Eat with Low Carb French Toast

You don’t need to eat anything else with it if you don’t want to! It is a perfectly fine and filling keto breakfast all on its own.

But if you like a variety for breakfast, I’d suggest some fresh berries and perhaps some keto maple bacon, some scrambled eggs, or even these poached eggs in air fryer!

How to Store Keto French Toast

If you want to make a big batch and eat them throughout the week – you can do that too! I prefer to do that actually. I am not a fan of making breakfast every day. So I enjoy the fun keto breakfast recipes like this one that you can make over the weekend and warm up throughout the week!

Just follow the recipe and let them cool completely before storing them in an airtight container in the fridge! Simply warm up and serve with your favorite topping!
