Air Fryer Keto Blacked Salmon
Have you ever made blackened seasoning? If you haven't, then you are in for a real treat, savory style!
I make a big batch of this keto blackened seasoning and then use it to make meals such as this keto blackened salmon.
I enjoy salmon but simply don't eat it enough. This seasoning really makes this recipe stand out and just may prompt you to increase your healthy fats in the form of salmon!
How to Make Keto Blackened Salmon
Preheat air fryer to 400 degrees. Prepare the seasoning as instructed here (super easy)!
Using a silicone brush, brush olive oil onto both sides of salmon filets. Sprinkle blackened seasoning onto salmon fillets. Make sure to get both sides.
Place the salmon into the air fryer tray, skin side down.
Cook for 7-10 minutes or until desired doneness is achieved.
Can I Bake This Keto Blackened Salmon in the Oven?
You certainly can! It may not turn out as crispy as the air fryer, but the flavor will be just the same!
Keto Blackened Salmon Oven Instructions
Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Places fillets on a prepared baking sheet skin side down and bake for 8-10 minutes or until completely done.
Is Blackened Seasoning Healthy?
It sure is! Almost zero carbs with lots of healthy, gluten free spices. I mean, you really can't go wrong in general when you throw a bunch of common spices together. It is quite an experience to experiment!
What Does Blackened Salmon Mean?
Blackened is a style of cooking that results in, well, a blackened and crispy outer feel.
The air fryer will certainly give you that. The oven version gives a slightly less blackened look and feel, but it is still close enough for those that don't have an air fryer.
Blackened Seasoning Spices
This keto seasoning uses the following delicious flavors and spices together:
Chili powder
Paprika
Garlic powder
Cumin
Basil
Onion powder
Brown sugar substitute (Coconut sugar for Paleo, Swerve for Keto)
Can I Freeze Blackened Salmon?
You sure can! I recommend baking it and waiting for it to cool thoroughly first. Once completely cooled, seal in an airtight container and freeze.
When you pull it out of the freezer, let it thaw and then warm in the oven at a low temperature.
