Peanut Butter Vanilla Ketones Smoothie
Ketones! A much debated topic, right? I’ve heard it all.
Take ketones for weight loss (don’t need to)
Take Ketones to stay in ketosis (no)
Take Ketones to get in ketosis (sigh…..)
Take ketosis to burn fat fast (burn fat, sure, but…..)
What do I have to say? Whatever.
I don’t agree with much of that but it doesn’t matter, right? We all follow our own version of keto and we all do what works for us.
BUT, if you do take ketones for your own personal reason, then you may be struggling getting over the taste. I know I do!
If so, then this smoothie and ketone combination is just the thing to help those ketones get into your belly and not get stuck in your mouth!
What are Ketones?
There are 2 types of ketones: exogenous and endogenous.
At a really high level:
Endogenous ketones are a by-product of the breakdown of fat, These are the ketones that are made inside your body.
Exogenous ketones are the kind that are made outside the body,
Ketones, both endogenous and exogenous, can then be used for energy.
Do I need to take Ketones?
Nope! You sure don’t! And, in fact, the only reason I think exogenous ketones should be used is for energy.
I am not a fan of using them to “get into” or “stay” in ketosis because the fact of the matter is what will get you into and keep you in ketosis is your diet.
What brand of exogenous ketones is the best?
Well, I haven’t tried them all, but I am partial to Perfect Keto. I like that their products are clean and taste good. They are not filled with a bunch of crap.
They also offer a variety of flavors!
Do Ketones have a strong taste?
Well, yes. They have a very unique taste. I can’t say that I am a fan.
Perfect Keto has lots of flavors and they do a pretty good job of masking that interesting ketone taste.
However, I take it one step further in this peanut butter vanilla ketones smoothie just to make it even better!
