Ingredients

  • 1 pound extra-large shrimp peeled and deveined with tails on
  • 3 ounces crushed pork rinds
  • 1/3 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon Cajun or Old Bay seasoning optional
  • Beef tallow for deep frying, optional

Instructions

  • Pat the shrimp dry using a paper towel to ensure the coating adheres properly.
  • If baking, preheat the oven to 400°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a Ziploc bag, combine the pork rind crumbs, parmesan cheese, and optional seasoning. Seal the bag and shake until the mixture is evenly blended.
  • Crack the eggs into a bowl and whisk them thoroughly.
  • Dip each shrimp into the whisked eggs, ensuring they are completely coated.
  • Transfer the shrimp to the Ziploc bag with the crumb mixture. Seal the bag and shake gently to coat each shrimp evenly.
  • For Oven-Baked Shrimp: Arrange the coated shrimp on the prepared baking sheet in a single layer. Bake for 10 minutes, flipping halfway through for even crispiness.
  • For Air-Fried Shrimp: Preheat the air fryer to 375°F. Place the shrimp in the basket in a single layer and air fry for 6–8 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through.
  • For Deep-Fried Shrimp: Heat beef tallow in a skillet or deep fryer to 375°F. Fry the shrimp in small batches for 6–8 minutes until golden and crispy.
  • Serve hot and enjoy the crunchy, savory flavors of these carnivore-friendly shrimp!
