Add heavy whipping cream to your high powered blender. Blend for about 6 minutes, giving it a few seconds rest every minute or two while scraping down the sides of the blender.
Place a fine strainer over a bowl and empty contents of the blender into the strainer.
Using your hands, gather the butter and squeeze the remaining buttermilk out of it. The butter will clump together in your hands.
Separate the butter into 5 equal parts. Each part should be approximately 1/2 cup. It might be a little more or a little less.
