Peppermint Keto Fudge

Do you have any special desserts you like to make around Christmas? It seems like there are so many festive recipes for cookies, pies, and other holiday treats, I could go into a sugar coma just thinking about them!

That being said, there is one dessert that is ALWAYS on my holiday menu, and that’s rich and decadent peppermint Keto fudge. It just screams Christmas!

First of all, I think they turn out beautifully. The crushed peppermint candy on top of the white fudge gives me festive feelings just looking at it. They’re so fun to bring out for family or guests because everyone always comments on how pretty they are.

Second, can we talk about that fudge? The taste and texture are melt-in-your-mouth amazing! Meanwhile, the sharp peppermint flavor helps cut the richness of the white fudge for a balanced, irresistible treat.

And finally, they’re wonderfully easy to make! Boil the cream, butter, and low-carb sweetener to thicken, stir in the extracts, then pour into a loaf pan to set in the fridge. Sprinkle the crushed candy on top partway through, then stick it back in the fridge until it’s ready.

How easy does that sound? Once you try it for yourself (and take a bite), you’ll understand why these are on my “must make” list every holiday season!

Is Peppermint Candy Okay For Keto?

Traditional peppermint candy is made with sugar and corn syrup, which isn’t ideal for a Keto way of eating. One candy will have around 7 grams of carbohydrates and 6 grams of sugar.

Instead, you want to use sugar-free peppermint candies or even sugar-free candy canes, which you should be able to find at most grocery stores. To crush them, I recommend putting the candies in a large resealable bag, closing it, and pounding with a rolling pin or mallet.

How Many Carbs Are In Fudge?

The nutrition for fudge is going to depend on the ingredients, the serving size, and how it was made. A piece of fudge from a store-bought brand is going to be different than one you get from a local chocolate shop.

However, if the fudge is made with a traditional recipe, it’s probably going to have sweetened condensed milk and plenty of sugar in it. An average piece will have around 13 grams of carbohydrates and 12 grams of sugar.

Compare that to Keto white peppermint fudge, which only has 1 net carb per serving! So you can enjoy all the rich, smooth, chocolate-and-peppermint goodness without worrying about kicking yourself out of ketosis.

Can Keto Peppermint Fudge Be Made Ahead Of Time?

Absolutely! A batch will stay fresh in the fridge for about a week. However, I can tell you from experience that unless you hide it behind something less-desirable—like spinach or broccoli—you may find every piece devoured within days or even hours.

Once you’ve sliced the fudge, store it in an airtight container or plastic zipper-top bag. You’ll want to keep it chilled in the refrigerator to ensure it doesn’t melt.
